Corrosion Protection on Audi Vehicles

Audi produces 100% galvanized cars to prevent corrosion,[15] and was the first mass-market vehicle to do so, following introduction of the process by Porsche, c.1975. Along with other precautionary measures, the full-body zinc coating has proved to be very effective in preventing rust. The body's resulting durability even surpassed Audi's own expectations, causing the manufacturer to extend its original 10-year warranty against corrosion perforation to currently 12 years (except for Aluminium bodies which don't rust).[16]
An all-
aluminium car was brought forward by Audi, and in 1994 the Audi A8 was launched, which introduced aluminum space frame technology (called Audi Space Frame). Audi introduced a new series of vehicles in the mid-nineties and continues to pursue leading-edge technology and high performance. Prior to that effort, Audi used examples of the Type 44 chassis fabricated out of aluminum as test-beds for the technique.

AUDI TT OVERHEATING - CNET Car Tech Forums

Be aware of your thermostat...if it gets too hot...it may be time to change out a thermostat and/or flush the radiator...

Does anyone know about how many miles one should flush the radiator in a 2001 Audi TT Quattro Turbo 225 HP? If you know please post a comment.

AUDI TT OVERHEATING - CNET Car Tech Forums: "Had the thermostat replaced and it definitely made a difference. Vehicle runs cooler on highway (middle mark, instead of 1st past middle) and only gets up to 1st mark past middle instead of 2nd in bumper to bumper. Hope this helps, thermostat was sticking, allowing coolant to get too hot until it popped open."
'Vorsprung Dirch Technik' [ Advantage Through Technology" - Audi's German Tagline. Audi will import 5000 roadsters into North America for an on-sale date of April 2000. Half of these will be equipped as Quattros, and only 1250 are expected to be the 225-horsepower version. So what the heck does TT stand for anyway? That would be "Tourist Trophy" as in Great Britain's historic racing series of the Isle of Man. TT Now Stands for Terrifically Topless.
